[Recursions]

Wonderland (Magic)

This insane recursion bled into existence thanks to writer Charles Lutwidge Dodgson under the pseudonym Lewis Carroll. Wonderland is a world where hallucinations seem to take on a life of their own and peculiar anthropomorphic animals and objects are the recursion’s primary natives. With a nasty habit of spawning inapposite gates up to Earth on occasion, Wonderland invites its residents to wander and allows unexpected guests from Earth to drop in. Many and varied artifacts and cypherlike items exist in Wonderland, including elixirs of growth, hookahs of disappearance, and possibly even the famous vorpal sword (assuming someone from another recursion hasn’t already stolen it).

Several dangers also threaten a visitor, including the sometimes vicious residents like the Queen of Hearts and the ultimate predator of the land, the jabberwock.

CAPRICIOUS HOOKAH

Level: 1d6+1
Origin: Wonderland (fictional)
Law: Magic
Form: Hookah

Effect: A user who occupies herself with smoking the hookah—which must be supplied with tobacco and lit—can call upon the following effects, but never the same effect twice in two rounds.

Depletion: 1 in 1d6

VORPAL SWORD

Level: 1d6+3
Form: A long sword that sometimes whispers and snickers aloud
Recursion: Wonderland

Effect: The vorpal sword cuts through any material of a level lower than its own. It is a medium weapon that ignores Armor of a level lower than its own. On a natural attack roll of 19 or 20, the suggested minor and major effect is decapitation of a foe that has a head. Each decapitation and successful attempt to cut through solid material requires a depletion roll (but normal attacks do not).

Depletion: 1–2 in 1d100
