VAMPIRE LORD 9 (27)

The Strange Bestiary

The vampire lord is the most powerful vampire in the world and is often (but not always) the most ancient of its kind. It has many vampires under its control, and even those that it did not create pay it respect and homage.

Some vampire lords are versed in sorcery and spells as well as their vampiric powers.

Motive: Thirsts for blood

Environment (Magic): Anywhere, usually solitary

Health: 40

Damage Inflicted: Major wound (10 points)

Armor: 2

Movement: Long

Modifications: Climb, stealth, and perception as level 10; Speed defense as level 10 due to fast movement.

Combat: Vampire lords have all the powers and weaknesses of a regular vampire, plus one or two unique abilities. It's possible that the traditional methods of killing a vampire are only temporary setbacks for the vampire lord, and the only way to destroy it for good is mysterious and unique, such as an ancient ritual, a special weapon, or something of that nature.

Interaction: As the apex predator among apex predators, the vampire lord is extremely arrogant. Interacting with it on any level other than supplication will likely arouse anger.

Use: The vampire lord is a villain for the end of a campaign—a deadly challenge for even the most powerful characters. If any vampire is aware of the Strange and all its recursions, it is the vampire lord.

Loot: The vampire lord has at least one artifact and very likely 1d6 + 1 cyphers, as well as the wealth of kings.
