Gunslinger Knights
This strange creature is made out of an amorphous flexible substance that absorbs most light, so it appears as a humped pointy shape that vaguely resembles a house-sized silhouette of a wolf's head, with two greenish organs inside that look like eyeballs. When relaxed, its cross section is a narrow ellipse, but its body is very malleable, and it can twist, curve, and compress itself at will. It usually creeps about on the ground, ambushing creatures to torment and consume them, but sometimes floats into the sky, levitating silently like a hole in the night. Due to its coloration, it prefers to hunt when it's dark out, but if part of a horde, it is as likely to move about in daylight.
Motive: Hungers for flesh
Environment: In, near, and after Fundament Storms; solitary or with other creatures of the Crawling Deeps
Health: 15
Damage Inflicted: 5 Intellect points
Armor: 3
Movement: Short; short when flying
Modifications: Speed defense as level 3 due to size; stealth in dim light or darkness as level 7
Combat: A slimewolf attacks once per round, either touching a creature with a mouthlike part of its body or intensely glaring with its "eyes" at a creature in short range. Either attack inflicts 5 points of Intellect damage (ignores Armor) and the target must succeed at an Intellect defense roll or be cursed (see below). Once a creature's Intellect Pool is 0, any further Intellect damage comes out of their Might Pool.
As part of another action, a slimewolf can make its green eyelike internal organs less visible, hindering its perception tasks and attacks but easing its stealth. This lasts until the creature chooses to return to normal.
A slimewolf can squeeze its body through any space with a diameter of 1 foot (30 cm) or greater while moving at its normal speed.
Interaction: A slimewolf seems more intimidating and sapient than other horrors of the Crawling Deeps, but that may just be the impression of those who survive its erie presence. It doesn't attempt to communicate and is not as intelligent as any of the Veen.
Use: Villagers are unable to sleep after observing an eerie shape in the night sky. A pool of black fluid rears up and attacks, revealing itself as a horror.
GM Intrusion: The slimewolf moves unnaturally fast up to a long distance, attacking a new foe or the same foe from a different direction. This attack is eased by two steps.
GM Intrusion: The slimewolf envelops the character within its body. While so held, the character is blinded, their physical actions are hindered, and they automatically take damage every round. As an action, the character can attempt to escape with a Might- or
Speed-based roll.
