Orboran means “Queen of Ashes” in Yunai. The orboran is a giant yellow and cream lizard that lives near lava flows and is found exclusively on Oniro, the only active volcano around Naviri.
Orborans mate for life and take care of their young together. Females have a thick, thorny tail to protect their eggs, which they lay in hot ashes. Once the female has laid the eggs, she broods them at all times, relying on the male to feed her. Their male counterparts are much smaller and swifter but mostly harmless. When the brood of young orborans reach the size of their father, they leave on a long journey to find a mate.
Male orborans are much smaller, quicker, and less aggressive than females. However, they defend their mate and nest to the death if necessary.

Combat: An orboran rams its foes with its armored, spiked head and tail, inflicting a major wound (9 points) and knocking them prone.
An orboran can also spin its body as an action, inflicting a major wound (9 points) on all creatures within immediate range of its tail and knocking them all back a short distance.
If an orboran feels as though it is losing a fight and its entire brood is in danger, it may pick up one of their eggs in its mouth and throw it at their foes, sacrificing one of its offspring for the safety of the others. A thrown egg acts as a detonation, splashing all foes in long range for a major wound (9 points) from heat damage.
Orborans are immune to fire and heat damage.
Interaction: Orborans are not interested in interacting with you beyond seeing if you're edible. (Hint: you definitely are.)
Use: A restaurant has hired the characters to gather orboran eggs for an upcoming festival. The characters are seeking something related to a volcano when they accidentally stumble upon an orboran and her nest.
Loot: Orboran eggs are considered both a tasty delicacy and an object that can be preserved and decorated.
GM Intrusion: The orboran knocks a character back onto unstable ground, right into the path of spewing lava.
