Tidal Blades
Tidal Blades are the elite guardian heroes of Naviri. Equipped with the latest shell-powered weapons, they patrol the reefs near the ocean and protect the area from all the sea monsters crawling from the depths beyond.
To become a Tidal Blade, a character must participate in the citywide competition known as the Tournament of Heroes. Tidal Blades are chosen from the best contestants in the tournament.

Combat: Tidal Blades save most of their combat prowess for competitions or fighting monsters that threaten the city. It would be a rare situation indeed where a character attempted to fight a Tidal Blade in anything other than a training exercise or as part of the tournaments.
Most Tidal Blades are well trained, keenly aware of their power and abilities, and will work hard not to injure someone else (unless, of course, their opponent is threatening the city in some way).
Tidal Blades typically specialize in one or two abilities, such as using a specific type of weapon, using time leaps, or racing watercrafts.
Interaction: Most Tidal Blades appreciate being part of the community. They celebrate the city they protect, as well as its inhabitants. Although they're busy and driven, most will take time out of the day to interact with others.
Use: Characters who wish to become Tidal Blades may seek out a Tidal Blade as a mentor or trainer. One of the characters sees a Tidal Blade as their hero and wishes to meet them or impress them.
Loot: Most Tidal Blades have at least one unique or rare piece of equipment, such as a shell shield, weapon, armor, or artifact, that is important to them.
The people on the next few pages competed in the most recent Tournament of Heroes, where they earned the title of Tidal Blade through their feats of skill and showmanship. They have Tidal Blade stats except where noted.
