RECURSOR 4 (12)

The Strange

Recursors roam the various recursions seeking knowledge, new cultures, amazing discoveries, and powerful loot. They carry a variety of survival gear, weapons, and other interesting things the y've gathered in their explorations. Some work for a larger organization, others are freelancers, but all are quickened.

Motive: Curiosity and finding loot

Health 18

Damage Inflicted: Moderate wound (4 points)

Armor: 2

Movement: Short

Combat: Recursors can be deadly in combat, but most would rather talk or flee than fight fellow PC recursors. They use ranged weapons when possible and attempt to translate away if seriously threatened. A given NPC recursor may possess one or more of the following abilities, or other abilities suggested by a PC type or focus. Recursors also have one or two cyphers that they can use in combat.

Interaction: Recursors are understandably leery and sometimes gruff, but deep down, they're almost always grateful to find a new ally who is as interested in the Strange as they are.

Use: Sometimes when the PCs need a little support, an NPC recursor can accompany them. Recursors also make excellent guides or scouts through a new recursion. If the characters encounter another human in the course of their travels in a remote recursion, chances are it might be an NPC recursor.

Loot: Recursors have at least three weapons, medium armor, equipment suited for exploring the current recursion, 1d20 units of currency, 1d6 cyphers, and possibly an artifact.

GM Intrusion: The NPC recursor pulls out a trick via a cypher or an ability that proves to be the perfect tool to give her a leg up in the encounter.
