Modifications: Tasks relating to intuition, persuasion, detecting falsehoods, most knowledge tasks as level 6.

Combat: Professors prefer to avoid a fight. If a fight can’t be avoided, a professor tries to deduce a foe’s weakness (if any) and exploit them in combat.

Interaction: Most professors are helpful, informative, and with children may be maternal or avuncular. A few also manage to come off as insufferable know-it-alls.

Use: To the PCs, professors can be obstacles (a researcher who won’t reveal their patron) or allies (a patron who provides answers to hard questions and other occasional aid).

Loot: Most detectives have currency equivalent to a very expensive item and a one or two cyphers.

GM Intrusion: After watching the character fight or interact for one or more rounds, the professor gains an asset on all tasks they make to oppose or get the better of the character.
