Tidal Blades
Atilma Meron was an Orchardian frog healer who discovered the fascinating healing properties of the Meron fruit in 248 AU. She died in an accident four years later, falling off a particularly high cliff on the Vinian Ridge.
The Citadel officially gave the fruit her name in recognition of her important contribution to modern medicine.
Orchardians are masters of growth. They spend all their efforts perfecting methods to generate food in more effective ways for the city, through advances in farming, sustainable harvesting, and efficient gathering. They are also skilled healers and make the rounds to take care of the sick in the Citadel. Many, but not all, Orchardians are turtles.
They are important members of their community and, just like the glassforgers, belong to their own guild. The Orchardians' Guild is difficult to join; only the most talented of Initiates are selected, and their knowledge is taught strictly from master to apprentice.
Motive: Generate food, heal the wounded
Environment: While some Orchardians can be found in the wild searching for rare types of fruit, most of them are located in the Floating Gardens, where they are assisted in producing food by Initiates of the Trigon. Orchardians also work in the coral farms of New Mingu.
Health: 9
Damage Inflicted: Minor wound (3 points)
Movement: Short
Modifications: All tasks related to generating, harvesting, and gathering food as level 5; healing as level 4
Combat: Orchardians prefer not to fight, if they can help it, and may instead call for assistance from any nearby Coral Guards. If forced into combat, they typically rely heavily on damage and defense cyphers that they keep stashed on their person or in nearby safe spaces.
Alternatively, they may act in a support capacity. They can heal a nearby target for 5 points of health (or restore points to a Pool of the Orchardian's choice), as long as the Orchardian is protected from attack while healing the damage. Orchardians can use this ability no more than once per day per character.
Interaction: Orchardians are fonts of knowledge about all things related to farming, harvesting, and healing, and are typically happy to share what they know with those who seem interested.
Use: The PCs want to find a particular type of plant, food, or fish, and believe the Orchardians would be a useful resource.
The PCs are hired to protect an Orchardian who needs to travel to an obscure or dangerous location to gather seeds or seedlings. One of the PCs desperately needs healing.
Loot: A pack of healing medicines and herbs.
GM Intrusion: The character healed by the Orchardian is left with a hideous scar.
