Drifter 2 (6)

Tidal Blades

Drifters are self-sufficient Navirians who travel endlessly from dock to dock, without relying on Citadel-backed collectives to supply their income. They've learned how to survive on their own, often using their watercraft as their home. Some hope to earn their living by selling their wares or their skills, while others aspire to become arena champions, either through organized battles or by rising up as a racing pilot.

Often suspicious of authority, they tend to have pessimistic views regarding the Navirian system. In fact, some are certain it is unsustainable and will eventually collapse.

Drifters are likely to have large families, contrary to other Navirians who generally leave their eggs and offspring to be raised at New Mingu. Families often join together and form self-sustaining floating villages.

Motive: Independence, self-sufficiency

Environment: Throughout Naviri

Health: 9

Damage Inflicted: Minor wound (2 points)

Movement: Short

Modifications: Navigation, survival, Speed defense, and all tasks involving watercrafts as level 3

Combat: Drifters know their way around a fight but are not necessarily eager for one. If forced into combat, they prefer to fight from their watercraft, ideally pulling any danger out to sea, so it's away from their family members or community.

They use ranged weapons if possible and may flee if seriously threatened, leading pursuers on a wild chase across the water. Drifters know the area so well that they may leave their foes lost in the middle of nowhere.

Interaction: Drifters despise and distrust anyone or anything having to do with authority, especially if it's related to the Citadel. Anyone who wants to bring down some type of authority, hide out from the powers that be, or otherwise rail against he system will likely find allies among the drifters.

Use: Someone whose family is tied to the Citadel has run away to join the drifters, and their loved ones ask the PCs to find them and bring them back home. The PCs make friends with a group of drifters while traveling, but later discover the drifters have unknowingly used them in some way.

Loot: Drifters have a weapon, a travel pack, a couple of shells, and possibly a cypher.

GM Intrusion: Another drifter, hidden until just the right moment, appears and takes a shot with their bow. Then they fully join the fray.
