Riker 5 (15) BRUISER

Neon Rain

Though Riker is barely 5 feet (1.5 m) tall, she's equipped with bulky cybernetic arms that hang past her knees, ending in fists the size of footballs. With her skeleton and cartilage reinforced to bear the weight of her prosthetics, Riker benefits from an overall increase in strength, which she puts to use in her bouts at the Dome.

Her bubbly demeanor disguises how shrewd she really is—and has to be, to survive Edge City's deadliest, most unregulated boxing arena (not that there are many competitors for the title). If asked about working conditions at the Dome, Riker says that she prefers it over customer service. She's even been able to land a few sponsorship deals. Riker prides herself on looking out for newer boxers on the circuit: she may eventually bash their skulls in, but she still cares.

When she's not beating her opponents to a pulp, Riker considers herself nonviolent; she doesn't eat meat, and even avoids killing bugs. She collects historical weapons, especially broadswords. If presented an opportunity to wield one—especially if it involved protecting someone else—she'd set her pacifism aside in an instant.

Motive: Win every fight, and have fun doing it

Environment: Edge City, especially the Dome

Health: 25

Damage Inflicted: Moderate wound (6 points)

Armor: 2 or 4

Movement: Short

Modifications: Speed defense as level 4; attacks with heavy weapons as level 6

Combat: Riker primarily attacks with her fists, which, due to her enhancements, are considered heavy weapons.

She can crouch with her cybernetic arms raised to protect her head, torso, and legs, increasing her Armor by 2 (to 4) but hindering her attacks. At the start of each of her turns, she decides whether to use this defensive crouch or to attack and defend normally (either outcome lasts until the start of her next turn).

She may additionally fight with a broadsword, although blades and projectiles aren't permitted in her boxing matches.

Interaction: Riker always has time to talk to new friends—especially if they actually want to befriend her, and aren't just hangers-on. When approached by fans, Riker leverages her burgeoning fame for favors, like free concert tickets or cutting in line at a coffee shop.

Use: A character recognizes Riker from a JimBob AgriBiz cereal commercial. Riker bails PCs out of a fight they're doomed to lose, while wielding a massive sword.

Other Equipment: Riker is well-supplied with Calcichloride®, which she uses liberally after fights, and Moon Rocks, which she can't sleep without.

GM Intrusion: Instead of punching a character, Riker grabs them in a bear hug, trapping them until they escape with a Might defense roll as an action.
