FLYING SLUG 3 (9)

Tidal Blades

Colorful and highly toxic, flying slugs are giant mollusks that are mainly found on cliffs along the seaside or in the jungle. Highly adaptable, they can shift their coloring to blend in and can survive long falls by flapping their slimy, translucent wings. By doing so, they project droplets of acidic slime that perforate the jungle foliage and anything else in the vicinity.

Due to their high toxicity, flying slugs have few natural enemies. However, some, such as liongulls, have developed unique adaptations that allow them to hunt and devour flying slugs.

Motive: Food, defense

Environment: Cliffsides, particularly along the edge of the sea or in the jungle

Health: 9

Damage Inflicted: Minor wound (3 points)

Movement: Immediate; short when flying

Modifications: Speed defense as level 2 due to speed; stealth as level 4 due to color-shifting abilities

Combat: Flying slugs are more likely to attempt to hide than attack, unless they are threatened or provoked. In that case, they release a highly poisonous slime over their entire bodies; anyone who comes into contact with one and fails a Might defense roll takes a minor wound (3 points) and is hindered in all Speed actions until the initial damage is restored.

Additionally, when flying, falling, or flapping their wings for any reason, flying slugs spray the poisonous slime around and below them, affecting everything in short range.

Interaction: Flying slugs cannot be interacted with.

Use: Before setting camp, young adventurers should be on the lookout for leaves with small perforations, as they are a sign of flying slugs in the vicinity. While hiking through the jungle, a character sits on a large rock to rest, only to discover that it's a coiled flying slug.

Loot: Those who know how to harvest the flying slug's poison (a level 3 Intellect task) can retrieve 1d6 uses of it.

GM Intrusion: A nearby creature or companion animal catches a flying slug in its jaws and shakes it, sending a spray of poisonous slime over everything in short range.
