Weaponizes Chrome

Neon Rain

Some of your organic parts have been replaced with artificial components. Like most people in the city, you are a cyborg, but your augmentations are extensive, and your chrome parts are specialized for melee combat. You almost certainly have metal plating and technical components visible on your skin. As you advance, you can add to, modify, or discover new functions for your machine parts.

Connection: Choose one of the following, or choose one of the Focus Connections.

  1. Pick one other PC. You think they shows potential for learning your combat style (and choice of chrome), but you're not necessarily qualified to teach them.
  2. Pick one other PC. They once paid for repairs on a treasured item you own. You feel like you owe them, even though you may have already paid them back.
  3. Pick one other PC. You once saved their life, and they clearly feel indebted to you (you wish they didn't, it was just part of the job).
  4. Pick one other PC. This person recently mocked your combat stance. How you deal with this (if at all) is up to you.

Minor Effect Suggestion

Your software learns from your successful actions, granting you an asset on a similar action involving the same task (such as making attacks against the same foe or operating the same device).

Major Effect Suggestion

Make an additional attack with a melee weapon as part of your turn.

denotes a cyberware-derived ability.

Type Swap Option:

Integrated Weapon Enabler

One light or medium melee weapon of your choice (such as a mantis blade or monowire) is built into one of your arms. The weapon is concealed until you wish to use it.

Tier 1

Bash (1 Might point) Action

This is a pummeling melee attack. Your attack inflicts 1 less point of damage than normal, but dazes your target for one round, during which time all tasks it performs are hindered.

Melee Chrome Enabler

Your machine parts grant you +1 to Armor, +1 to your Might Pool, and +1 to your Speed Pool. Melee Chrome is a variant of Enhanced Body for a setting where cybernetics are common and have limited self-healing capabilities; it doesn’t grant as many Pool points as Enhanced Body, but doesn’t have the limited healing drawbacks.

Tier 2

Weapon Defense Enabler

While your chosen weapon is in your hand(s), you are trained in Speed defense rolls.

Tier 3

Choose either Heavy Integrated Weapon or Rapid Attack as your tier 3 ability.

Heavy Integrated Weapon Enabler

You must have at least one gorilla arm to select this ability. One heavy melee weapon of your choice (such as a katana or Omega® bat) is built into your gorilla arm. The weapon is concealed until you wish to use it. Enabler.

or

Rapid Attack (3 Speed points) Enabler

Once per round, you can make an additional attack with your chosen weapon.

Tier 4

Reliable Weaponry Enabler

Choose one of your weapons. If you roll a natural 1 when attacking with that weapon, you can ignore or countermand the GM intrusion for that roll. If it isn’t an embedded weapon, you can never be disarmed of it, nor will you ever drop it accidentally. If it is an embedded weapon, it can’t be damaged or destroyed unless you allow it or you deliberately attempt to do so (such as sticking it in molten steel).

Tier 5

Extreme Mastery (6 Might or 6 Speed points) Enabler

When using your chosen weapon, you can reroll any attack roll you wish and take the better of the two results.

Tier 6

Ability Choice: Choose either Lethal Damage or Ultra Enhancement as your tier 6 ability.

Lethal Damage Enabler

Choose one of your existing attacks that inflicts points of damage (depending on your type and focus, this might be a specific weapon, a special ability such as a blast of fire, or your unarmed attacks). When you hit with that attack, you inflict an additional 5 points of damage.

or

Ultra Enhancement Enabler

You gain +1 to Armor and +5 to each of your three stat Pools.

GM Intrusions: The character's weapon moves two steps down the object damage track. The character's weapon gets stuck in the foe (or their corpse) and can't be used until the character uses an action to pull it free.
