[FOCI]

Neon Rain
You've always been fascinated by cyberspace, its architecture, and the wealth of data it contains. You may have started out as a hacker, programmer, or data administrator, but viewing the internet on a screen was never enough for you. You're driven by the urge to transcend your body, to enter a complete simulation of that nonsensical nonspace. You're a netrunner, hooked on the thrill of jacking into the matrix, where you interact with physical manifestations of AI, software, and viruses.
You might enter the matrix for legitimate reasons, such as for your job or education—or maybe you make a point of going where you're not welcome, stealing and selling proprietary data. With access to a computer or terminal, you plug yourself in and you're off to the races.
Connection: Choose one of the following, or choose one of the Focus Connections.
Any foes or ICE in the frame freeze for one round.
Any foes or ICE in the frame are paralyzed by debilitating glitches.
⚡ — denotes a cyberware-derived ability.
With computer access, you jack in instantly and learn a bit more about something you can see. You get an asset on a task involving that person or object.
Characters who have chosen Datajack as a type ability should replace it with a different special ability selection from their type.
You are trained in using (and exploiting) computer software, you know one or more computer languages well enough to write basic programs, and you are fluent in internet protocol.
You gain quick access to a desired bit of information in a computer or similar device, or you access one of its primary functions. When you're hacking the impossible, the GM will decide if your hack is reasonable and determine its level of difficulty. For comparison, discovering a normal password when you have direct access to the system is a difficulty 2 task for you.
While in cyberspace, you summon an AI assistant that appears at any point you can see within short range. The AI is a level 3 NPC with 15 health. The AI obeys your commands and does as you direct it. The AI remains until you dismiss it as an action or until it is killed. If the AI disappears because it was killed, you take 4 points of damage that ignore Armor and cannot summon the AI again until the next time you jack in.

The more you practice netrunning, the more proficient you become. To flaunt your experience, roll a d6 when attempting a netrunning task you have succeeded at previously. On an even result, the task you’re attempting is eased by two steps. On a roll of 1, the task is hindered. Enabler.
You gain 6 points to your Intellect Pool.
You are trained in navigating cyberspace. If you are already trained in navigating cyberspace, you become specialized. If you are already specialized, choose another area of knowledge (such as coding, research, or repairs).
You speak telepathically with any or all machines within 1 mile (1.5 km). You can ask one basic question about themselves or anything happening near them and receive a simple answer. For example, while in an area with many machines, you could ask about the location of a specific creature or individual, and if they are within a mile of you, one or more machines will probably provide the answer.
Any time you use Effort on an Intellect action, add one of the following enhancements to the action (your choice):

While in cyberspace, you can instantly return to any frame you’ve previously visited, bypassing any conduits or obstacles. You can transport willing creatures with you, with each creature requiring 1 additional Intellect point.
GM Intrusions: A bit of lint or dust lodged in a datajack causes an unstable connection. Netrunning requires a working console or computer. Prolific data thieves may catch the attention of rivals and adversaries.
