Someone else destroyed you—this might be in terms of your reputation, your mental or financial state, or your physical well-being. Whatever it was, it was big and life-changing, and you can't seem to get past it. Maybe it's laid you low, maybe it's given you a desire for revenge, or maybe you're hesitant to trust yourself, the world, or other people ever again. Now that you know what rock bottom feels like, you'd do almost anything to keep yourself out of that place again.

You gain the following characteristics:

• Self-Reliant: +2 to your Might Pool.
• Loner: You gain no benefit when you get help with a task from another character who is trained or specialized in that task.
• Skill: You're trained in sneaking.
• Skill: You're trained in foraging, hunting, and finding safe places to rest or hide.
• Inability: Your past experiences make you slow to trust others and awkward in social situations. Social interactions are hindered.

Additional Equipment

You have a memento from your past—an old picture, a locket with a few strands of hair inside, or a lighter given to you by someone important. You keep the object close at hand and pull it out to help you remember better times.
